Is this a good first chapter? Dont be stupid and say grammer and that crap. Please.

“Green,” Darren said firmly as he placed the apple in my hand. I stared down at the apple and then glanced up to find Darren already walking out of the kitchen. With the apple still in hand I ran after him. I placed my hand on his shoulder whipping him around so he was facing me.
“Why green?” I asked trying to catch my breath. He just smiled and put his hand over the top of the apple.
“Because,” He took a quick breath. “Green is the color of life.” The sides of his mouth twitched upward. “And, they taste the best.” I smiled and he draped his arm around my shoulder. I flinched as his hand hit my wound on my shoulder.
“Are you okay?” Darren asked taking his arm back. I nodded and dropped the apple onto the cold hard wooden floor. He slowly bent down to pick it up. He looked up at me and sighed.
“I should have been more careful, my fault, im sorry.” I shook my head and sighed rubbing my arm.
“It’s okay Darren, you didn’t know, im fine.” He stood up and shook his head.
“No, Blake, its not, that cut was my fault! I keep hurting you and I cant stand it” I stared at him. I knew he was right, it was so hard for him I could just see the pain in his eyes.
“I know, but does that stop you?” He averted his eyes and groaned.
“No, that’s the problem.” I stared at him.
“What are you saying?” He carefully took my hands in his and pushed my body against his.
“Im saying that maybe we should,” He paused, his perfect features scrunched up in a confused expression. “Maybe we should take some time off from each other; you know give each other some space.” My eyes started to mist over.
“Are you serious?” I asked my voice shaky; He nodded and set the apple in my hand.
“It’s for the best.” Then he took my face in between his marble hands and kissed the hollow part of my throat. My bottom lip quivered as he strode towards the front door. I ran towards the door as it was swinging shut, I missed it and the slam of the door encoded through out the empty house. I slumped down the wall and held my shaking hand out in front of me for inspection. I was trembling.
“Blake?” A male voice asked in concern. I looked up to find Nate, my best friend standing over me. “Are you okay? You seem a bit down.” I rolled my eyes and he helped me into standing position.
“Being dumped does seem to sadden some of us, while others just prance along not caring how other people feel.” Nate stared at me.
“Darren dumped you.” It wasn’t a question. I nodded and he pulled me close to him. I buried my face into his chest and cried. “Even though I am just your friend, or maybe someday more, I will always be there for you.” He whispered in my ear.
“What?” I asked casting my eyes upward. He looked into my eyes and smiled. He leaned down towards my face and gently pressed his lips onto mine. Suddenly a burst of emotion flooded through out my veins. I couldn’t believe I was being kissed by my best friend! And right after Darren broke up with me! Nate pulled away with a smirk on his face. I grimaced and watched him walk into the kitchen. There was a knock on the door and I ran to it. There before me stood Chuck Uley, Nate’s best friend.
“How are you?” I stared at him for a minute and then groaned.
“What do you want?” He smirked and caressed the side of my arm.
“Well aren’t we feisty this morning.” I jerked away from his hand and glared at him.
“What do you want, Chuck?” He breathed in a sigh and smiled.
“Where’s Darren?”
“You’re out of luck, he just left.”
“So where’s Nate?”
“I’m out of luck, he’s still here.” Chuck fiddled with the end of his red and white scarf and sighed. “Can you go and tell him Chuck Accord is awaiting his arrival on the third step.” I rolled my eyes.
“Cant you tell him yourself, you’re a big boy.” He smirked and nodded.
“Yes, yes I am.” I gave him my most disgusted look and his smile faded.
“Where is he?”
“In the kitchen, I think.” Chuck brushed past me, his face scrunched up. The scent he left lingering in the air that surrounded me was sweet, almost like revenge.
“Nathanial!” Chuck sang entering the kitchen where Nate was leaning on the counter.

“Chuck? What are you doing here?” He asked glancing at me over his shoulder. Chuck blocked Nate’s path and put his hands on Nate’s shoulders.
“We have some business to discuss, alone.” Chuck glanced back at me and smiled. “Do you mind?”
I rolled my eyes and walked out onto the porch. The sun warmed my cheeks as I walked down the street.
“Blake? Blake Kent?” I stopped and turned around to find my best friend Chelsie standing behind me with wide eyes.
“Chelsie!” I screamed running up to her and embracing her small body. She staggered at my weight.
“You look great Cels!” She spun me around and nodded.
“So do you! How’s Darren?” His name made my heart flutter.
“We broke up, today.” Chelsie’s face softened.
“Oh, im so sorry Blake. Are you okay?” I nodded and then shrugged.
“It was for the best, yah know?” She nodded and her cell phone rang.
“Excuse me.” She flipped it open and waved at me. She pulled the phone away from her ear and sighed.
“I’ll call you tomorrow so we can catch up, lunch?” I nodded and she hugged me. “Everything will pan out of you babe, yes, yes I’m here Jake.”
I smiled and watched her cut through the Dobermans yard and out of sight. I looked up at the sky and sighed. In the last five minutes the sun has already disappeared behind a **** load of clouds.
“Blake?” I turned and groaned once I saw the red and white scarf that I dreaded. “I was looking for you everywhere.”
“Well Chuck, you found me, do you want to talk?” Chuck was inches away from me as he smirked.
“It would probably be for the best; Nate is pretty peeved at me.” I started to roll my eyes but stopped and looked at his face. He was actually sad about this.
“Are you okay? What happened?” I asked and he sat on the bench near us. I popped a squat next to him and he closed his eyes.
“The only reason I came to the house is to tell Nate that,” He stopped and rubbed his head.
“Is to tell Nate that, what?”
